2023-2024 School Year
Survey of the Old Testament I and II
This two-part course will overview the books of the Old Testament. The background, general content, and purpose of each book will be considered. Students will be equipped to continue their study of each book personally. The first quarter will cover Genesis through Esther and the second quarter will cover Job through Malachi.

Survey of the New Testament I and II
This two-part course will overview the books of the New Testament in an approximate chronological order. The background, general content, and purpose of each book will be considered. Students will be equipped to continue their study of each book personally.

Christian Doctrine
This course will introduce students to the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith. Attention will be given to the existence of God, the nature of God, the truth of the Bible, and the person of Jesus Christ.

New Testament Christianity
This course will cover the fundamental doctrines pertaining to the gospel, salvation, and the church. Attention will be given to the nature of the new covenant, the concepts of grace, faith, and works, and the distinctive pattern for the church in the New Testament.

Serving the Local Church
This course will involve a practical study of the various works of a local church, the organization of a congregation, and the distinct roles of different members. Attention will be given to how individual Christians can better participate in their congregation.

Scheme of Redemption
This course will involve a thematic study of God’s work to provide redemption for humanity. Attention will be given to the Messianic prophecies, the preservation of Abraham’s seed, typology in the Old Testament, and the meaning of the cross.

2024-2025 School Year
Christian Character
This course will involve a practical study of the characteristics which should describe the life of any faithful Christian. Attention will be given to the life of Christ, the fruit of the Spirit, and the “Christian Graces.”

Personal Discipleship
This course will involve a practical study of the meaning of discipleship and what following Jesus really looks like, utilizing guided discussions and individual reflection to instruct and motivate students in their commitment to Christ.

Spiritual Growth
This course will involve a practical study of various spiritual disciplines which are necessary for Christians to grow in faith and faithfulness. Guided discussions will give attention to the process of growth in Christian identity, repentance, holiness, spiritual maturity, and other areas.

Intro to Bible Study I
This course will provide a basic foundation for students to capably study the Bible on their own. Attention will be given to practical skills for studying the text, how to respect the context of a passage, mistakes not to make, and other relevant factors of biblical interpretation.

Intro to Bible Study II
This course will cover the process by which we apply the Scriptures to modern times, interpreting God’s will to learn what He accepts or prohibits. This class was previously titled “Religious Authority.”

Immersive Study of James
This course will provide an interactive study of the book of James, utilizing devotional reflection and guided discussion for interpretation and practical application of the text. Each class will employ the chapel model from the Brown Trail School of Preaching.

Theory of Preaching
This course will involve a study of the definition and importance of biblical preaching, giving attention to the responsibilities of a preacher and the intended effect of preaching in the local church. The ministries of certain preachers in the Bible will also be considered.
Note: this class is designed to be relevant for any member of the church, not just aspiring preachers.

Christian Worship
This course will involve both a doctrinal and practical study of worship. Attention will be given to the definition of worship, how to worship God in a way He accepts, and practical training for better participation and service in the worship of the church.
